James Thomas Hill III

Tripp arrived October 25, 2013 at 5:12pm.  He weighed 7 pounds and was 19 1/2 inched long.
The delivery went smoothly. Tripp is healthy. We are blessed!

Week 36, 37, and 38

Well, our little man has arrived...so here is a combination post so I can get to the "good stuff"... AKA- Tripp!

Total Weight Gain:I gained a total of 13 pounds from my pre-pregnancy weight. (Now remember, I had lost a lot of weight in the beginning...so the 13 pounds sounds very deceiving!)
Maternity Clothes: Yes.  Most of the shirts are becoming too short in the belly.  Leggings and sweaters/tunics were a go-to the last few weeks.
Sleep: It was difficult to find a comfortable position the last few weeks I was pregnant.  I added a few pillows to the sleeping arrangement, which seemed to help a little.  I also started getting contractions at night time, which made me uncomfortable as well.
Best Moment of the Week(s): Going to the doctor each week was great!  I loved getting an update on how things were progressing.  At 36 weeks I was 80% effaced and 1 centimeter dilated. At 38 weeks I was 100% effaced and still 1 centimeter dilated
Movement: Everything I read about the last few weeks in pregnancy stated that babies will slow down their movements because they have run out of room.  Tripp did not follow this rule.  While I still think he had run out of room, he did not let that stop him from still moving around in my belly...especially at night.
Food Cravings: I wouldn't saw I had any specific cravings.  I did want to eat and I always tried to finish my meal, although there seemed to be no room in the inn for a ton of food.  I can see why many small meals were recommended instead of 3 large ones.
Symptoms: Other than some contractions and hip pain I didn't have many symptoms I could complain about!

Week 34

How far along: 34 weeks
Total Weight Gain: up 6 pounds
Maternity Clothes: Yes
Sleep:I am finding it harder to fall back asleep when I wake up to use the restroom several times throughout the night.
Best Moment of the Week: Our sweet Bible Fellowship Class from church threw us a get-together to celebrate Tripp! It was so much fun.  It was at Calhoon's restaurant, so we all just ate and celebrated together!
Movement: Night time is Tripp's favorite time of the day.  I wonder if he will be a night owl like his daddy?
Food Cravings: I am loving a sweet ending to supper.  Cookies, ice cream, brownies, whatever!!!
Symptoms: I have been resting all week since this was my first week on fall break!  I feel like any symptom I've had has been rested away!

Week 32

How far along: 32 weeks
Total Weight Gain: up 4 pounds
Maternity Clothes: Yes
Sleep: Still sleeping okay.  It is getting harder to get out of bed in the middle of the night for those pesky bathroom breaks though!!
Best Moment of the Week: My wonderful baby shower from my great team at work!
and...
It's almost Fall Break at school, which means a babymoon for Jim and myself!  We are going to Nashville for the weekend to explore, relax, and watch the Titans play the Chargers!
Movement: Still movin' and a groovin'.
Food Cravings: Jalapenos!!! I had to order quesdillas and nachos this week.
Symptoms: I hate to say this, but I had some 'cankles' this week when I came home from work.  Trying to keep my feet elevated as much as possible!
 Week 32 (School Baby Shower)
Week 33 (Babymoon!)

Week 30

How far along: 30 weeks
Total Weight Gain: up a couple pounds
Maternity Clothes: Yes
Sleep: I am sleeping well. I am still getting up every few hours to use the restroom.
Best Moment of the Week: Having a date night with Jim.  Trying to squeeze as many things into our last few weeks as a family of 2 before Tripp arrives!!!
Movement: Practicing flips like mommy and daddy.
Food Cravings: Not anything that stands out. Although a like a something sweet at the end of the night.
Symptoms: Using the restroom often.  Other than that I can't think of any!

Louisville Baby Shower

The weekend after we traveled to North Carolina for our shower, we were blessed enough to have another shower in Louisville.  The friends and family that threw this shower did such a great job! We are so thankful baby Tripp is loved so much.

Durham Baby Shower

Jim's family was so sweet to throw us our first baby shower.  We made the all too quick trip the weekend of August 17th to be showered with such lovely well wishes and gifts.  We loved seeing everyone and Tripp came out ahead with a lot of great gear.
