Hello, My Name Is...

James Thomas Hill III

"Tripp"

[  for triple :o)  ]

Week 26

My second trimester is FLYING by.  I can't believe we are almost to the thrid trimester.  I say the first trimester felt like it lasted forever because you are keeping this HUGE secret you want to share with everyone... plus you are sicker than a dog and counting down the days to the second trimester hoping for some relief.  But this trimester has truly flown by.  I also blame the fact that it was summer break and time goes at rapid speed during any school break.  Apparently if you are in the "feeling great" second trimester, it goes even faster :o)

How far along: 26 weeks
Total Weight Gain: Back to Pre Pregnancy weight
Maternity Clothes: Yes
Sleep: sleeping okay, other than restroom breaks every couple hours!
Best Moment of the Week: When the baby moves now to our touch, Jim's voice, a flashlight, etc.
Movement: Movin' and a Groovin'
Food Cravings: I have needed ice cream every night!  Okay, maybe I don't need it, but it sure felt like it!
Symptoms: My abdominal muscles feel like they are pulled/sore.  I guess baby Hill is needing some more room and is making it!

Week 24

How far along: 24 weeks
Total Weight Gain: just about caught up to my starting weight!
Maternity Clothes: Yes!
Sleep: I am sleeping pretty well!
Best Moment of the Week: surviving my first week back to work!
Movement: We have been able to SEE him move recently-- not just FEEL him!
Food Cravings: Ice Cream and Dessert
Symptoms:  This isn't a symptom, but a new finding--- School started back this week (year-round schedule) and I am quickly finding that tasks I used to do with little problem are getting much harder: putting up bulletin board paper and border, bending down to pick up the pen I've dropped, leaning over tables, etc.

22 weeks

How far along: 22 weeks
Total Weight Gain: Only down a few pounds from starting pregnancy weight!
Maternity Clothes: Yes!
Sleep: When we were on vacation I didn't sleep too well... but now that I am back in my own bed, I am sleeping just fine again (except for all those pesky bathroom breaks!)
Best Moment of the Week: Jim was able to feel the baby move this week-- He was one proud daddy!!
Movement: He is super active when I finally lay in bed each night. This is when I feel him the most.
Food Cravings: I can't say I have had a specific craving yet... at least not one that is on the "yes, you can eat" list.
Symptoms: no new symptoms to report

Here are two pictures-- One from 22 weeks and another from 23 :o)

I feel my belly grew like crazy on vacation! I got to Florida in the middle of week 21 and we left at the start of 23 weeks--my family, Jim and I were all surprised on how much I "grew" while at the beach.   I am sure this had nothing to do with all the good eating I did!

20 Weeks-- Halfway!

Well, we have made it to the halfway point! I really can't believe that I am this far along. It is surreal.  The farther along we get in this pregnancy the faster it seems to get.  It seems to follow the summer break rule--- the older you get the faster summers fly by.

How far along: 20 weeks
Total Weight Gain: Still down about 5 pounds
Maternity Clothes: Yes! except for summer dresses that are loose.
Sleep: I am getting up several times a night to use the restroom.  I usually fall back asleep pretty quickly.
Best Moment of the Week: Seeing our sweet BOY on the ultrasound screen again.
Movement: Yes, there are two distinct movements I feel.... a rolling movement, as if he is rolling over from one sleeping position to another-- and then a punch/kick/karate chop motion that I am sure others could feel if I could predict his little motions.
Food Cravings: No real cravings-- although a little dessert each night is becoming a trend.
Symptoms:I am having some backaches, but who knows...this could be from old cheerleading injuries!!!

18 Weeks

We are almost half-way through this pregnancy.  That is crazy to me!  I do feel like I have been pregnant for a long time... I'm sure that has something to do with knowing almost instantly whether your fertility treatment worked or not! We are once again so thankful to have made it this far in our journey and pray continuously for our precious baby!

How far along: 18 weeks
Total Weight Gain: Still down about 7 pounds
Maternity Clothes: Honestly, this week I haven't tried any non-maternity item other than t-shirts and summer dresses, so I am not sure if anything pre-pregnancy, that buttons, still fits.
Sleep: I am tossing and turning throughout the night.  I wonder if it is because I am paranoid about sleeping on my back?!?  I wake up and roll over several times.
Best Moment of the Week: The best moment this week was the fact that SCHOOL'S OUT FOR SUMMER BREAK !!!
Movement: I am feeling something "funny" when I lay down flat.  I am guessing that it is our little baby.  I am sure pretty soon it will be unmistakeable.
Food Cravings: Does "I want a waffle" count as a craving?  This was my statement to Jim last night.  So what did we do?  We hopped in the car and went to waffle house.
Symptoms: None really.  Thankful the worst part of nausea and night sickness have seemed to pass.  Also thankful I have found some new energy throughout the day (although I am still ready to crash at bedtime!)
